First Deputy Prime Minister, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, met with lecturers from public universities of Afghanistan. Mullah Beradar Akhund said that higher education is essential for the development of a country and the IEA is committed to providing higher education to men and women in accordance with Sharia principles.

Professor Najibullah Amarkhel, chairman of the Association of Public Universities of Afghanistan, said that Afghanistan has a long history of higher education in the region, but it has not developed significantly due to the negligence of various governments. He added that low salaries, lack of housing and neglect of the spiritual side of lectures are their main problems.

Mullah Sahib assured them that these problems would be solved and that the process of higher education would start soon.
