Deputy PM for Economic Affairs met with Uzbekistan's National Security Council Advisor

Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, met with Abdulaziz Kamilov, Uzbekistan National Security Council Advisor and Special Representative of the President for Foreign Policy, and his accompanying delegation at Chahar Chinar Palace.

The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan; strengthening Afghanistan's ties with the international community; sooner launch of major economic projects; and cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Kamilov said the Islamic Emirate's rule in Afghanistan had opened a new chapter in relations between the two countries, and it is gratifying to see that, through these relations, joint talks are being held on Afghanistan's economic reconstruction and strengthening its economic systems.

He added that next July, Tashkent will host an international conference on Afghanistan, to which a high-level representative of the Islamic Emirate will also be invited.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund congratulated Kamilov on his new appointment and welcomed the international conference being convened by Tashkent, calling it a positive step towards building relationships.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund also stated that Uzbekistan needs to complete the work of incomplete projects in the fields of electricity and aviation, including the Termez-Kabul-Mazar-e-Sharif-Peshawar railway, as soon as possible.

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs emphasis on strengthening relations between the two countries and hoped for its further enriching and development.
