Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund Meets with Turkish Ambassador
The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met today, Thursday, September 10, 2026, at his office with the Ambassador of Türkiye to Afghanistan, Sadin Ayyıldız. During the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding economic, trade, and transit relations between the two countries, as well as addressing the challenges faced by Afghan refugees in Türkiye.
The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs praised the activities of Turkish companies that have invested in various sectors in Afghanistan. He also called on other Turkish investors to invest in Afghanistan, assuring them that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan would provide them with all necessary facilities and support. The Deputy PM further stressed the need to address the challenges faced by Afghan refugees in Türkiye and to create greater facilities for them.
In his remarks, Turkish Ambassador Sadin Ayyıldız expressed satisfaction with the increase in the volume of trade between Afghanistan and Türkiye. He said Türkiye is ready to further expand its relations with Afghanistan in the areas of transport, transit, healthcare, education, and other economic sectors. He added that Türkiye would continue its cooperation in expanding relations between Afghanistan and the international community and in presenting the true image of Afghanistan to the world.
The Turkish Ambassador also said that Türkiye has facilitated the issuance of visas to Afghans and would seek to provide further facilitation in this area.
