Meeting Held Regarding Mes Aynak Project

The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met today—May 10, 2025—with the Director General of the contracting company of the Mes Aynak project in his office.

The Deputy PM described Mes Aynak as one of Afghanistan’s key economic projects and stated that the Islamic Emirate has provided all necessary facilities to the contracting company to advance the project. He urged the company to begin the construction phase of the project as soon as possible and resolve any issues that are causing delays.

Wang Zhicheng, Director General of the MCC company, appreciated the cooperation of the Islamic Emirate in advancing the project. He stated that significant progress has been made in many areas of the Mes Aynak project and expressed readiness to proceed with the project in coordination with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.
