Economic Commission Meeting Discusses Key Projects: Second Sarubi Dam and 300 MW Gas Electricity Production in Jawzjan

At the regular meeting of the Economic Commission held at Marmarin Palace, several significant projects were discussed, including the construction of the second Sarubi dam in Kabul province and the production of 300 megawatts of gas-based electricity in Jawzjan province. The agenda also included a draft proposal for construction materials from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and several other economic topics. Chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, the meeting involved comprehensive discussions on these critical issues. The Ministry of Water and Energy was tasked with conducting technical discussions with various companies regarding the construction of the second Sarubi dam. The ministry is to consider the Economic Commission's opinions and present its findings in a report to the Commission. Additionally, the Ministry of Water and Energy was instructed to engage in technical discussions with the company proposing the 300-megawatt gas electricity project in Jawzjan province. These discussions will include the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, and the ministry will submit a detailed report on the project's feasibility and technical aspects to the Economic Commission. The meeting also addressed a draft from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum concerning construction materials, including sand, gravel,  and building stones. After a thorough evaluation of the draft, the task was assigned to a committee led by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. This committee will hold joint meetings with relevant ministries and agencies to finalize the draft, which will then be sent to the office of His Excellency Amir Ul Momineen for approval.
