The 31st Autumn Agricultural and Livestock Products Exhibition has been inaugurated today, October 16, 2024 at the Badam Bagh Research and Training Farm in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund.

The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, members of the cabinet, representatives of the private sector, as well as several farmers, livestock owners, and the public.

In the ceremony held on this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs pointed out Afghanistan's agricultural climate, highlighting that the country has fertile agricultural lands, clean water, and diverse climatic conditions, offering substantial potential for agricultural development and a variety of products. Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund emphasized that since the Islamic Emirate has regained power, attention to the agricultural sector has increased, leading to the complete eradication of poppy cultivation and the implementation of various alternative livelihood projects.

He further stated that the Islamic Emirate is making continuous efforts, guided by economically focused policies, to strengthen the agricultural and livestock sectors. These efforts include supporting domestic products, implementing policies to substitute imports, mechanizing agriculture, managing water resources, and executing key programs that will enhance the competitiveness of Afghan products both domestically and internationally.

Referring to the significance of the exhibition, he said, "We need to bring our products to regional and international markets. However, this can only be fully realized if we focus on improving the quality, packaging, processing, and value chains of our agricultural and livestock products." He reiterated that the Islamic Emirate welcomes any form of investment aimed at strengthening the value chains, processing, and packaging of agricultural and livestock products and assured full cooperation in creating the necessary facilities for such investments.

In conclusion, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund emphasized the importance of this exhibition for marketing agricultural and livestock products and urged all farmers, livestock owners, traders, and investors to pay greater attention to the quality standards of their products.

The 31st Autumn Agricultural and Livestock Products Exhibition features 263 booths showcasing a variety of agricultural and livestock products and will continue for four days.
