Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, met in his office with the Executive Vice President of MCC, Mr. Wu Min. In this meeting, both sides discussed the implementation and start of the practical work of the agreed-upon project. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is ready to begin the Mes Aynak project and is open to any form of cooperation in this respect, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said, adding that the current situation in Afghanistan presents a good opportunity for such developmental projects. Mr. Wu Min afterward complimented Mr. Baradar Akhund for his efforts in initiating the project and said that after the transfer of the antiquities from the Aynak area, they will practically start the construction.
