The beggar collection committee, led by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, has collected 8444 beggars from different areas of Kabul city until September 24, 2022.

5779 of the beggars that were collected were female, and after evaluation, 1750 of them were determined to be deserving, while 4029 others were found to be professional beggars. After evaluation, 236 of the 718 males were found to be deserving, and 482 of them were professional beggars.

1947 of them are children, of which 1079 are deserving and 827 are professional beggars. Among the deserving beggar children, there are 41 unaccompanied children.

After the biometrics, unaccompanied beggar children are admitted to the care and training center by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and there they are provided with livelihood and education. The deserving beggars are given continuous cash assistance by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
