A total of 5914 beggars have been collected in Kabul city so far

The beggar collection committee, led by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, has collected 5914 beggars from different areas of Kabul city until September 13, 2022.

3872 of the beggars that were collected were female, and after evaluation, 1069 of them were determined to be deserving, while 2803 others were found to be professional beggars. After evaluation, 138 of the 518 males were found to be deserving, and 380 of them were professional beggars.

1524 of them are children, of which 763 are deserving and 723 are professional beggars. Among the deserving beggar children, there are 38 unaccompanied children.

After the biometrics, unaccompanied beggar children are admitted to the care and training center by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and there they are provided with livelihood and education. The Afghan Red Crescent Society has begun distributing cash to deserving beggars, and hundreds of people have benefited so far.
