Procurement Commission Approves 12 Projects Worth Approximately AFN 2.7 Billion

The regular meeting of the Procurement Commission, chaired by Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held today, Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace. A total of 30 projects were presented for discussion.
Following discussions, 12 projects worth approximately AFN 2.7 billion were approved, while a number of amendments to 10 other projects were also approved. The contracts for two projects were cancelled due to deficiencies in the performance of the contracting companies. It was decided that the road construction project from the beginning of the Nakhass Road to Omid Sabz Township should be implemented by Kabul Municipality, while the project related to the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum should be re-tendered.
The Procurement Commission also decided that four projects encountering issues in their procurement processes should be re-tendered. In addition, designated committees were assigned tasks concerning two projects to negotiate with the winning companies on project prices and submit their reports to the leadership of the Procurement Commission.
The approved projects include the construction of hospitals in Khost wa Fereng District of Baghlan Province and Said Karam District of Paktia Province; the construction of a number of internal roads in Kabul city; the implementation of electricity supply and distribution networks in various provinces; and several other projects.
The amended projects include the Darul Aman Complex project under the Ministry of Finance, the completion of the remaining works of the 200-bed hospital in Kunar Province, the Al-Shifa Hospital in Kabul city, and several other projects.
All of these projects are funded by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
