Economic Commission Holds Regular Meeting
The regular meeting of the Economic Commission was held today Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace, under the chairmanship of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund.
During the meeting, members discussed the implementation guideline for tax and customs exemptions aimed at encouraging and attracting new domestic and foreign investment. Following the discussion, the designated committee was tasked with holding technical meetings to further refine the guideline and submit its finalized version at the next meeting of the Economic Commission.
The meeting also approved a proposal to construct a commercial market on the land of municipality in Taloqan, the capital of Takhar Province. Under the proposal, the private sector will invest AFN 110 million to build a seven-story commercial market, creating employment opportunities for dozens of citizens.
In addition, reports on several follow-up agenda items were presented, and the relevant institutions were provided with the necessary guidance.
The decisions adopted during the meeting have been forwarded to the office of the Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin for final approval.
