On October 24, 2025, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Arabian “Delta International” Company, Shahir Al-Taqi, in a meeting also attended by former U.S. Special Representative Zalmay Khalilzad.

During the meeting, both sides discussed issues related to gas exploration, extraction, and pipeline extension.

The company’s CEO expressed his interest in investing in Afghanistan’s oil and gas sector and pledged to share his expertise with Afghan engineers.
