Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Initiates Construction of Standard Waiting Room at Kabul International Airport

On July 25, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, inaugurated the construction of a standard waiting room at Kabul International Airport. The ceremony saw the presence of Acting Minister of Transport and Aviation, Mullah Hamidullah Akhundzada, Acting Minister of Economy, Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, representatives from the private sector, and airport officials. The waiting room project, funded by a 290 million AFN investment from the private sector, is expected to be completed and operational within 18 months. Designed to accommodate 150 passengers, the facility will offer all essential amenities to ensure comfort and convenience. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Transport and Aviation has planned 43 key projects valued at approximately 3.7 billion AFN for the current year. These initiatives aim to enhance the provision of standard transportation services nationwide, significantly advancing the transportation sector.
