The regular meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held today, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology presented an electronic system for managing official correspondence and administrative documents of state institutions for discussion. After a comprehensive evaluation, the system was approved, and the ministry was instructed to implement it gradually.

With the implementation of this system, coordination among state institutions will be strengthened, transparency, speed, and security will be enhanced, and the risks of forgery, corruption, and time wastage will be reduced. It will also reinforce the principles of accurate data management and accountability, and mark a significant step toward e-governance. The system also includes notable facilitation measures for service users.

Additionally, a report was presented on 22 public welfare projects that had been ordered for implementation by the Esteemed Amir ul-Mu’minin (may Allah preserve him), to be financed through mining revenues. Out of these 22 projects, the Ministry of Finance has conducted economic analyses for 13 projects, which were approved by the Economic Commission. It was instructed that these analyses be shared with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and that relevant institutions begin the practical implementation of the projects.

These projects include construction, railway development, and electricity transmission and distribution.

It is noteworthy that practical work has already commenced on nine of the 22 public welfare projects, with visible progress achieved.

At the end of the meeting, reports on several follow-up matters were presented, approved by the Economic Commission, and relevant institutions were given recommendations for implementation.

These decisions were forwarded to the Office of the Esteemed Amir ul-Mu’minin (may Allah preserve him) for final approval.
