Several Topics Approved by the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission

The regular meeting of the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission was held on Dec 23, 2024 at Marmarin Palace. Discussions were conducted on the topics presented in accordance with the agenda. During the meeting, the Minerals Prioritization Document and the proposal for allocating mining areas for the processing of large-scale mineral resources were presented for deliberation. After a comprehensive evaluation, these documents and proposals, with the incorporated amendments, were approved by the Technical Committee and referred to the Economic Commission for final decision-making.
Additionally, the proposal for extending the canal from the Kokcha River to the Abdan Desert was discussed, and the necessary decisions were made. A report on the feasibility study of the second phase of the Kamal Khan Dam (Qala-e-Afzal Dam) was also presented by the designated committee. The report was approved by the Technical Committee and referred to the Economic Commission for final approval. Towards the end of the meeting, the proposal for controlling and reducing single-use plastics was discussed. After a thorough review, the National Environmental Protection Agency was instructed to enhance the proposal by considering the opinions of relevant ministries and agencies. Moreover, it was recommended to hold consultations with the private sector for the practical implementation of the proposal.
