Proposed Investment Plan for Electricity Imports from Turkmenistan Discussed

The Second Session of the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee was Held at Marmarin Palace.  During this session, investment plans in the areas of solar power generation and the import of electricity from Turkmenistan were presented and provisionally approved. It was decided that the Ministry of Water and Energy and Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat would hold further meetings with the companies presenting these plans to conduct technical, economic, and financial analyses. The results of these analyses will be reported in the fourth meeting of the said committee. Additionally, the private sector presented plans for the construction of a large commercial center in Kabul, conforming to international standards. A joint committee, comprising representatives from various ministries and government agencies, was assigned to comprehensively examine these proposals and present them for a final decision at the next Committee meeting. The primary objective of the Committee is to expedite both domestic and foreign investments, enhance coordination among relevant ministries and government agencies during the investment planning process, foster a favorable investment environment, and ensure effective governance. As part of these efforts, domestic and international investors are encouraged to submit their proposals in accordance with specified standards. Submissions can be made in person at the Secretariat of the Economic Commission within the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Office.
