Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, conducted an inspection of the Kabul-Jalalabad second road on Friday, May 10. Accompanying him were key officials including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Public Works, Mullah Mohammad Issa Sani, alongside the Governors of Kabul and Nangarhar, Maulvi Aminullah Obaid, and Mullah Muhammad Naeem Akhund respectively. During the visit, the Deputy PM underscored the significance of the Kabul-Jalalabad route as a vital commercial artery, witnessing daily transit by hundreds of cargo and passenger vehicles. He noted that the primary Kabul-Jalalabad road faces congestion issues and is prone to traffic accidents and landslides, resulting in both human and economic losses. Recognizing the urgency to address these challenges, the Deputy PM emphasized the need for the construction of a secondary road. This initiative aims to mitigate traffic accidents, ensure timely transportation of commercial goods, and safeguard the lives of citizens. In conclusion, the Deputy PM affirmed his commitment to prioritize the construction of the second Kabul-Jalalabad highway. Once endorsed by Honorable Amir-ul-Momineen Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, practical steps will commence to advance this critical infrastructure project.
