Economic Commission: DABS should conduct an accurate survey of the cost of the remaining works of the Chak Dam

The Economic Commission, led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, First Deputy Prime Minister, has formed a joint committee comprised of representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Urban Development, Economy, Agriculture and Kabul Municipality to complete the process of transferring the Land Department from the Ministry of Urban Development to the Ministry of Agriculture. By special order of the Amir al-mu'minin, Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Department of Lands was transferred from the Ministry of Urban Development to the Ministry of Agriculture.

The commission also instructed Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) to conduct a detailed survey on the cost of the remaining work at the Chak Dam in Wardak province and submit its report to the next meeting of the commission. The Chak Dam has three turbines, upon its reactivation, it will have capacity of generating 3.9 megawatts of electricity.

The Economic Commission also called for the implementation of its decision, which would require the non-ferrous metal smelters to buy scrap non-ferrous metal from traders at market prices and not to export this raw material under any circumstances.

The commission also tasked a joint committee headed by the Ministry of Economy, which members are the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Kabul Municipality to take practical steps to resolve the land issues of industrialists in industrial parks.
