Proposal for Payment of Fixed Tax by Importing Commercial Companies at Customs Deemed Approvable.
The regular meeting of the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission was held today, Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace. During the meeting, the Ministry of Finance presented a proposal regarding the payment of a fixed tax by commercial importing companies at the country’s customs for discussion. After evaluation, the proposal was deemed approvable. With the implementation of this proposal, significant facilities will be provided to importing commercial companies, and substantial revenues will be generated for the state treasury.
At the meeting, the designated committee presented its report concerning incomplete projects funded by foreign donors in the country. After hearing the report, it was decided that the appointed committee should conduct a comprehensive assessment and prioritization of the said projects and submit its report to the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission within the specified timeframe.
The proposal presented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock regarding land and property verification and the modernization of the system was also discussed. Following deliberations, the Ministry of Agriculture was advised to share the proposal with relevant institutions for further input in order to enrich it and to submit the finalized proposal to the next meeting of the Technical Committee.
Additionally, the Technical Committee discussed the issue of aluminum exports from the country. A committee was appointed to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the matter and was instructed to submit its report to the Technical Committee on the specified date.
