National Procurement Commission Approves Eight Projects Worth Approximately 2.5 Billion Afghanis

Under the leadership of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the National Procurement Commission approved contracts for eight projects worth approximately 2.5 billion Afghanis and amended 13 others.

During the NPC’s regular meeting, held on March 16, 2025, at Marmarin Palace, 29 projects were presented for discussion. Of these, eight project contracts were approved, 13 were amended, two were canceled, and six were postponed due to procurement process issues. The assigned committees were tasked with reviewing the contracts of the postponed projects in compliance with procurement regulations and submitting their reports to the NPC leadership.

The approved and amended projects include: completion of maintenance and rehabilitation work on Dahla Dam in Kandahar province, completion of the remaining construction work on the Cancer Treatment Center at Ali Abad Hospital, Kabul Medical University, construction of transport terminals in Daman district and Bagh Pul area of Kandahar province, completion of the remaining sections of the Kabul-Kandahar highway, and several other projects funded by the Islamic Emirate.
