Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, participated in the Eid prayer with citizens affected by recent floods in Ghor province. During the gathering, Deputy PM Baradar Akhund extended Eid greetings to His Excellency Amir al-Mu'minin, the Mujahideen, the families of martyrs who fought for independence, his fellow countrymen, and the entire Islamic Ummah, expressing his hopes for the unity of the Islamic community. In his speech, the Deputy PM conveyed that the leader of the Islamic Emirate, Amir al-Mu'minin, has instructed officials to reach out to citizens who have suffered personal and financial losses due to the floods. He emphasized that he and other officials are committed to providing assistance to the affected individuals and alleviating their difficulties. The primary aim of his visit to Ghor province, he explained, was to enhance coordination between aid and rescue agencies, assess the work of designated committees, and address the concerns of flood victims. During his visit, he met with provincial officials, scholars, tribal leaders, and flood victims from various districts, listened to their grievances, and surveyed the damaged areas firsthand. The Deputy PM also highlighted the initiation of major projects across the nation, notably the road construction project of the East-West Corridor. This project, once completed, will connect the provinces of Herat, Ghor, Bamyan, Daykundi, and Maidan Wardag to Kabul. A significant portion of this project, the Herat-Ghor road, was inaugurated recently. In conclusion, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund reassured the people of Ghor that the Islamic Emirate remains committed to resolving their problems fully.
